Job description

Overview

The Manager, Pharmacy Operational Analytics serves as a senior‑level pharmacy informatics and analytics leader responsible for enterprise pharmacy data governance, systems optimization, revenue cycle performance, compliance monitoring, and operational analytics. Reporting to the AVP of Pharmacy Strategy, Insights & Analytics, this role functions as a strategic liaison between Pharmacy Operations, IT, Revenue Cycle, Nursing, Finance, and Business Intelligence teams. The position translates pharmacy strategy into measurable clinical, operational, and financial outcomes by leveraging advanced analytics, enterprise reporting tools, and deep system knowledge (EPIC, Pyxis/Omnicell, Power BI/Qlik, and related platforms). The leader drives performance transparency, compliance oversight, inventory integrity, and reimbursement optimization across inpatient, outpatient, retail, ambulatory, and contract pharmacy operations.


Responsibilities


  1. Acts as the subject matter expert for EPIC Willow, Pyxis/Omnicell, and BI tools to optimize pharmacy systems.

  2. Leads system validation, workflow enhancements, and dispense logic in collaboration with IT and BI teams.

  3. Oversees reporting logic, data integrity, and user access governance across the enterprise.

  4. Supports the implementation of ADU, BCMA, RFID technology, and centralized distribution systems.

  5. Contributes to the design and maintenance of enterprise dashboards and pharmacy Command Center tools.

  6. Leads compliance monitoring, auditing, and reporting for all clinical and medication workflows.

  7. Develops performance reports for time‑critical medications, barcode compliance, and clinical overrides.

  8. Conducts controlled substance audits and ensures the timely resolution of all inventory variances.

  9. Supports regulatory compliance, diversion monitoring, and enterprise‑wide opioid stewardship initiatives.

  10. Partners with Nursing and Quality teams to improve clinical documentation and administration performance.

  11. Leads pharmacy revenue analytics and charge capture validation to optimize reimbursement.

  12. Analyzes prescription trends and financial data to identify revenue leakage and cost‑saving opportunities.

  13. Monitors drug spending, pricing trends, utilization, and shortages to drive financial performance.

  14. Builds productivity and inventory analytics dashboards to support staffing and operational planning.

  15. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.


Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.


Experience

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required.
