Job summary

Virtua Health in Marlton, NJ is seeking a Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care according to professional standards and state/federal regulations, including direct patient care in primary care settings and education for providers and nurses.

The role involves serving as a drug information resource, developing guidelines and protocols, and participating in system-wide committees; PGY-1 required, PGY-2 ambulatory care preferred; NJ license required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or BS and comparable clinical experience.
• PGY-1 required; PGY-2 ambulatory care preferred.
• Active New Jersey pharmacy license.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient rounds (or equivalent) with appropriate individuals including physicians, nurses and other health care providers.
• Evaluates medication prescribing patterns and identifies opportunities for improving drug therapy.
• Drug Use Evaluations
• Provide education to patients/families, and other health care practitioners.
• Participate in medication safety initiatives
• Works within key sub-specialty areas to develop and maintain specific routine monitoring criteria for these patients.
• Represents the Pharmacy Dept. in system wide and divisional committees as needed.

Clinical pharmacy services to include direct patient care in primary care clinics, focusing on rural health outcomes related to chronic diseases. Additional responsibilities to include providing education to providers and nurses in addition to serving as a resource for drug information; developing guidelines and protocols, education for pharmacy department and clinical departments as needed. Participation in system-wide committees such as Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, in addition to precepting pharmacy residents and pharmacy students.

Salary:

$124,602 - $199,995 Yearly
