Job summary

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX seeks a Pharmacy Clinical Manager who will design, implement and manage clinical programs, including formulary management and education across the hospital. The role also supports coverage when the Pharmacy Director is unavailable, driving safety and therapy optimization.

You will lead multiple programs such as drug consults, nutrition support, anticoagulant monitoring and antimicrobial management, while mentoring staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required.
• Doctor of Pharmacy from ACPE-accredited college preferred.
• Minimum 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist required.
• At least 5 years hospital pharmacy experience required.
• PGY2/pharmacy residency or fellowship preferred.
• BCPS or other certifications preferred.
• Hospital Pharmacy Management experience preferred.
• Experience with math, balance and reconciliation of figures required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Meditech, Business Objects and purchasing vendor applications required.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing required; state requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage pharmacy clinical programs and formulary.
• Educate staff across the healthcare continuum and ensure policy compliance.
• Mentor pharmacy clinical programs such as drug consults and antimicrobial management.
• Monitor drug therapy and ensure appropriate dosing and safety.
• Assist Pharmacy Director as needed when unavailable.
