Job summary

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, part of Methodist Healthcare System, is seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Manager to design, implement and manage clinical pharmacy programs, including formulary management, policy development and education across the hospital. The Clinical Manager will also assist in Pharmacy Director coverage. The role requires a PharmD or B.S.

in Pharmacy, active license, hospital pharmacy experience, and leadership skills. Prior PGY2 residency and BCPS are preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. or Pharm D. from ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required.
• Active Pharmacist license in good standing required.
• Hospital Pharmacy Management experience preferred.
• 5 years hospital pharmacy experience required; leadership skills expected.
• PGY2 residency or fellowship preferred.
• ACLS/ FCCP or other certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders and verify them accurately in the pharmacy system.
• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor drug therapy for interactions, allergies and dosing.
• Maintain formulary and promote rational drug use.
• Develop and mentor clinical programs (drug consults, nutrition support, anticoagulant monitoring, etc.).
• Lead antimicrobial management program (AMP).
• Provide medication information to staff and patients.
• Assist Pharmacy Director in coverage as needed.
