Job summary

Shields Health Solutions in Durham, NC is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Liaison (PTCB or NHA Certified) to join our hospital-based specialty pharmacy management team.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work with patients and clinicians, provide medication adherence support, and help navigate insurance, prior authorizations, and financial assistance. Strong communication, organization, and proficiency with Microsoft Office are essential; 2–5 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• State registration as a pharmacy technician is required.
• CPhT certification preferred but not required.
• 2–5 years pharmacy technician experience.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a clinic/hospital setting with clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide integrated support to patients and pharmacists in a clinic setting.
• Serve patients face-to-face and by phone alongside hospital clinicians.
• Assist with prior authorizations and patient financial assistance.
• Maintain documentation in required systems and ensure data accuracy.
• Protect patient confidentiality and privacy in all communications.
• Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription needs.
• Identify medications requiring special storage and handling.
• Educate patients on medications and adherence strategies.
