Are you looking for an opportunity to directly impact patient care? We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Outpatient Oncology Pharmacy Specialist to join our team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure safe and effective use of oncology therapy
  • Collaborate with nurses, oncologists, midlevel providers, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care
  • Manage drug-drug interactions
  • Develop treatment plans
  • Support patients with education on their medications and chemotherapy treatment plans

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong background in oncology pharmacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passion for improving patient outcomes

PGY1 residency required. ( PGY2 in oncology/ambulatory experience preferred))

  • M-F - Days

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Evaluates and recommends appropriate drug therapy to achieve optimal, cost-effective patient outcomes, by working directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients. Participates in the development, provision, and evaluation of comprehensive pharmaceutical care and quality assurance programs through scholarly activities. Serves as a resource to the pharmacy staff and other hospital departments.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the overall health condition of the patient and evaluate medication profiles for optimal outcomes. Monitor therapy and goals of care. Document all activities and communication appropriately.
  • Participate in professional development and research activities.
  • Contribute to performance improvement, clinical effectiveness, drug use evaluation, and committee activities.
  • Participate in the education and training of pharmacy staff, residents, and students, serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Identify and implement targeted drug cost reduction programs.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Doctorate in Pharmacy

Experience

  • <2 years

Licenses & Certifications

  • Medication Therapy Services in MO
  • RPh

Preferred Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience
