Job summary

Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK is seeking a day shift, full-time Float Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our hospital team. You will provide patient-centered care and integrated pharmacy services in a decentralized practice setting with physicians and nurses. The role requires a B.S.

or Pharm D. from ACPE-accredited program, residency training (PGY-1/PGY-2) or 3+ years of clinical pharmacy experience, and active license.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or Pharm D. from ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Completion of an accredited PGY‑1 Pharmacy Residency or Fellowship (and PGY‑2 in an appropriate specialty) or 3+ years clinical experience with no PGY‑2.
  • OR 5+ years clinical pharmacy experience with no residency/fellowship.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification (or within 1 year).
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • BLS and ALS/ACLS certifications; Board Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient‑centered care and integrated pharmacy services in a decentralized practice setting with physicians, nurses, and other hospital personnel.
  • Support safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy and contribute to the medication‑use system.
  • Assist in centralized and decentralized medication‑use process improvements.

Education

  • Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656‑bed hospital that includes the Alexander Burn Center, Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.

The clinical pharmacist specialist is responsible for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy. Provide patient‑centered care and integrated pharmacy services in a decentralized practice setting with physicians, nurses, and other hospital personnel. In this clinical role, the specialist participates in all necessary aspects of the medication‑use system while providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the patients in the assigned areas. Also provide support of centralized and decentralized medication‑use systems.

Job Requirements:
  • B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting:
    • Completion of an accredited PGY‑1 Pharmacy Residency or Fellowship and an accredited PGY‑2 Specialty Pharmacy Residency or Fellowship (in an appropriate specialty field).
    • OR completion of an accredited PGY‑1 Pharmacy residency or fellowship and 3+ years clinical pharmacy experience (if no PGY‑2 is completed).
    • OR 5+ years clinical pharmacy experience with no history of residency or fellowship.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification (or attained within 1 year).
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Other applicable state requirements – e.g., sterile compounding, etc.
  • BLS certification.
  • ALS/ACLS certification.
  • Board Certification.
Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE‑accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office applications, Electronic Medical Record Systems.
