Job summary

JobRx, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist in Niles, IL, to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, particularly those with cancer. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and dispensing anti-cancer medications, reviewing medication orders, and providing education to healthcare professionals.

Applicants must hold a current Illinois pharmacist license and have a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in oncology. This role also includes teaching responsibilities and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Qualifications

Hourly Pay Range

$58.00 - $89.90 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Required Travel: Yes. Must be willing to rotate to other Endeavor Health Kellogg Cancer Center & Infusion center sites as needed
• Hours: Days, 8:00am - 4:30pm

What you will need

• License: Current Illinois Registered Pharmacist
• Education: BS or PharmD (preferred) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy

What you will do

Patient Care

• Provide and document comprehensive pharmaceutical care to NorthShore patients with cancer and other conditions related to cancer
• Provide and document medication education and symptom management to oncology patients and caregivers
• Review and process chemotherapy and supportive care orders plans for clinical appropriateness
• Prepare and dispense anti-cancer and supportive care medications for oncology patients following best practices and the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Design or update chemotherapy plans, supportive care regimens and monitoring plans (care plans) for oncology patients
• Design effective educational materials for patients on chemotherapy
• Provide chemotherapy infusion reaction management to oncology patients

Teaching/Education

• Provide consultative services to other health care professionals on anti-cancer drug therapy and monitoring
• Provide medication education to pharmacists and other health care professionals
• Precept learners (PGY2 oncology resident, PGY1 residents, and students) who are on rotation with the team

Performance Improvement

• Review protocols within the EHR for clinical appropriateness based on current guideline recommendations
• Coordinate and/or collaborate with other health care professionals to carry out quality improvement projects and develop institutional best practices
