Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC, seeks a licensed pharmacist to apply clinical and operational knowledge to assessment, treatment, and patient care, reviewing orders and dispensing medications.

You will supervise technicians, train staff, ensure a safe workplace, collaborate with physicians and nurses on clinical interventions, and participate in organizational improvement activities within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
• Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy or eligible for graduation.
• Knowledge of drugs, dosages, interactions, and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician medication orders for dosage accuracy, interactions and incompatibilities.
• Enters orders into the computer and dispenses medications as ordered.
• Supervises technicians, students and co-workers; trains new staff.
• Prepares and dispenses ordered medications.
• Maintains a safe working environment and collaborates with hospital staff.
• Participates in organizational improvement activities; completes required documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
