Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist per IDFPR (Illinois).
• Bachelor7s Degree in Pharmacy required.

Responsibilities

• CHECKS ALL MEDICATIONS LEAVING THE DEPARTMENT FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE.
• KNOWLEDGE OF CHEMOTHERAPY AGENTS OR ABILITY TO RETRIEVE INFORMATION.
• KNOWLEDGE OF HYPERALIMENTATION.
• KNOWLEDGE OF IV ADMIXTURE.
• KNOWLEDGE OF NARCOTIC CONTROL.
• KNOWLEDGE OF INVESTIGATIONAL DRUGS.
• KNOWLEDGE OF THERAPEUTIC DRUG MONITORING.
• KNOWLEDGE OF MEDICATION STORAGE AND DISPENSING GUIDELINES.
• DISPENSES MEDICATIONS FROM PHYSICIAN ORDERS.
• VERIFY DOSES ON ORDERS FOR PATIENT APPROPRIATENESS.
• CHECK REFILLS, UNIT DOSE MEDICATIONS, AND IV PREPARATIONS FOR ACCURACY.
• COMMUNICATE WITH HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS REGARDING ORDERS.
• PLAN NEW FUNCTIONS AND UPDATE SERVICES IN PHARMACY.
• PARTICIPATE IN IN-SERVICE PROGRAMS.
• PARTICIPATE IN PROJECTS WITHIN OR OUTSIDE THE DEPARTMENT.
• WORK WITH VARIOUS COMPUTER SYSTEMS, DOCUMENT CHARTS, AND DOSING BASED ON PARAMETERS.
• ENTER ORAL MEDICATIONS INTO HBOC SYSTEM.
• ENTER IV MEDICATIONS INTO HBOC SYSTEM.
• OVERSEE OMNICELL SYSTEM OPERATIONS BY TECHNICIANS.
• DOSE ALL DRUGS IN PK DOSING SERVICE.
• MONITOR FOR ADVERSE DRUG REACTIONS.
