Job summary

University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Retzky College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services seeks a full-time Clinical Faculty (Open Rank)/Clinical Pharmacist, Coordinator, Patient Access Center to oversee PAC operations and ensure timely prior authorizations.

The role includes teaching, staff development, and collaboration with UI Health providers, with opportunities for scholarly activity and service on university committees.

Qualifications

• PharmD from ACPE-accredited program required.
• Illinois pharmacist license required upon employment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a pharmacy setting and/or leadership role.
• Two years of clinical or operational experience in ambulatory pharmacy.
• Experience with pharmacy prior authorizations submissions or managed care setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Patient Access Center and prior authorization processes.
• Support day-to-day operations of pharmacy operations and Clinical Care Center as needed.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and outcomes.
• Develop training materials addressing knowledge gaps and trends in prior authorizations.
• Collaborate with UI Health providers to optimize therapy based on formulary and coverage.
