Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist - Oncology to support infusion pharmacy operations in West Palm Beach. The role focuses on reviewing orders, overseeing preparation of oncology medications, and collaborating with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible within 90 days of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of an immunization administration course or certification within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS or PALS certification required within hire for cardiopulmonary arrest events.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized pharmaceutical care for oncology patients receiving infusion therapies.
• Review and verify medication orders and oversee preparation/dispensing of oncology medications.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and clinical team to optimize patient care.
• Ensure safe, accurate and compliant delivery of cancer therapies.

The Clinical Pharmacist - Oncology supports infusion pharmacy operations in West Palm Beach, providing specialized pharmaceutical care for oncology patients receiving infusion therapies. In this role, caregivers are responsible for reviewing and verifying medication orders, overseeing the preparation and compounding of oncology and infusion medications, and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to optimize patient care. This pharmacist serves as an integral member of the oncology care team, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of cancer therapies while maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Based primarily in West Palm Beach, this position may also provide coverage at other regional infusion pharmacy locations as needed, requiring flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to adapt to varying operational environments.

A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. There is no weekend or holiday expectation with this role.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services.
• Ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.
• Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
• Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
• Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
• Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
• Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
• Provide cost-effective care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• PharmD or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for Individuals administering immunizations
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one of hire for individuals responding to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Board Certification
• Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
• Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PCY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists in a specialized pharmacy practice area
• Experience compounding oncology medications strongly preferred
• Prior infusion pharmacy experience preferred

Physical Requirements :

Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.

• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
• Must have normal or corrected vision.
• Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
