Job summary

Smart Staffing Group is seeking a licensed hospital pharmacist to join our team in Syracuse, NY. The role includes interpreting orders, preparing compounds, dispensing medications for inpatient and ambulatory care, and supporting pharmacy quality programs.

The ideal candidate holds a Pharmacy degree or PharmD, NYS licensure, and demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with health care practitioners and hospital staff across departments.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD; NYS licensed.
• Hospital pharmacy experience desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interprets medication orders and prescriptions to ensure that they are complete, safe, rational, and compatible with institutional policy
• Prepares compounds and dispenses medications for inpatient and ambulatory care use
• Dispenses Pharmacy related items
• Performs duties in all areas of Pharmacy to include inpatient, ambulatory care and satellites
• Provides information to health care practitioners to promote the rational use of medications
• Provides drug monitoring service
• Maintains Pharmacy records by law and institutional policy
• Interprets policy and procedures for hospital staff
• Participates in teaching programs for hospital staff
• Participates in Pharmacy Departments Quality Assurance Programs
• Able to perform majority of patient care functions needed in the acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
