Job summary

Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Broken Arrow is seeking a Pharmacist to work with the Director of Pharmacy, compound and dispense medications, and support regulatory and quality initiatives in an LTAC setting.

You will oversee pharmacy operations, supervise staff, interpret orders, ensure patient safety and adherence to standards for adults and geriatric patients aged 18 and above, including high-stakes IV and unit dose preparation.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Self-motivated, self-directed with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to organize meetings and inspections.
• Approximate percent of time required to travel: 0%.
• Minimum three months of experience in pharmacy.
• Knowledge of OSHA, JCAHO, HCFA and state guidelines.
• Experience in facilitating teams.
• Experience in writing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies per physician orders.
• Participates in Performance Improvement plans within the hospital.
• Advises Administration, Medical Staff and hospital staff on quality, regulatory and risk issues.
• Supports and serves as consultant to clinical and Medical Staff.
• Coordinates and implements Pharmacy activities with the Director.
• Interprets medication orders and ensures accuracy.
• Maintains aseptic techniques and monitors IV preparations.
• Supervises technical support staff.
