Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Tampa, a member of the Guardian family of pharmacies, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to join our rapidly growing team in St. Petersburg, FL. If you’re looking for a hands-on, high-growth position in a non-retail environment, this could be the place for you!

Responsibilities include preparing medications, reviewing orders for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations. A Florida license and 1+ year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD required.
• State Pharmacist License without restrictions.
• 1+ years of related experience.
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/required.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines.
• Great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging.
• Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly.
• Verify legality and feasibility of dispensing a drug based on allergies and interactions.
• Interpret prescription orders with professional judgment for safety and legality.
• Adhere to Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations and guidelines for compounding.
• Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as needed.
• Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders when below par.
• Oversee technicians and provide feedback to supervisors.
