Job summary

Tucson Medical Center seeks a Pharmacist - Clinical Pharmacy to provide clinical services in inpatient and/or clinic settings, collaborating with nursing and medical staff to optimize medication therapy.

Responsibilities include drug information, drug utilization reviews, and education of residents, students, and staff; a licensed pharmacist will participate in rounds and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an AACP-accredited college or PharmD holder.
• Current Arizona Pharmacist license upon hire.
• BLS and ACLS required (ACLS waiver for clinical pharmacist in retail department).

Responsibilities

• Interprets and clarifies written orders for all types of medications.
• Prepares compounds, labels, and packages medications per professional standards.
• Provides drug information to health care professionals.
• Advises patients on use of medications including dosage and side effects.
• Monitors drug therapy and suggests alternative therapies when appropriate.
• Educates pharmacy interns, students and PGY1 residents.
