Job summary

Salinas Valley Health Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy professional to assist in optimizing patient drug regimens and to review regimens for clinical effectiveness at the unit level.

You will collaborate with providers and the multidisciplinary team, provide drug information, and supervise technicians while ensuring USP 797/800 compliance. California licensure and BLS/ACLS are required, with PharmD preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or other advanced degree highly preferred.
• Current California Pharmacy License in good standing required.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per AHA is required.
• Current ACLS certification per AHA is required.
• Experience in hospital or related healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medication regimens for clinical effectiveness, drug selection, dosing, contraindications, and therapeutic outcomes.
• Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary team to optimize pharmacotherapy.
• Provide drug information to nursing, pharmacy, medical staff and ancillary personnel.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure sterile compounding compliance with USP 797/800.
• Attend rounds and patient care conferences as needed; assist with pain management as needed.
