Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, Connecticut, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy department. The role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth in a nonprofit healthcare setting.

You will work under the Pharmacy Director to meet department and hospital goals in accordance with policy, standards, and state/federal law, contributing to high-quality patient care and collaboration with a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy required.
• Licensed in the state of Connecticut or eligible for reciprocity (with licensure received within 90 days of hire or less) required.
• Pervious hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
• Reviews prescriptions issued by physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
• Directs pharmacy technicians engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, and verifies pharmaceuticals before dispensing and distribution.
• May assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
• Enters data, such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
• Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
• May instruct interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy and pharmaceutical information.
• Will be scheduled or required to work different shifts including the "Remote Access Night Shift".
