Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or equivalent required.
Three years of relevant pharmacy experience. Completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program, and if available, a PGY2 program in an area relevant to the position are strongly preferred and may completely or partially fulfill the above experience requirements.
Eligibility for pharmacist licensure in the state(s) as determined by the scope of the position is required. Board certification is preferred if certification relevant to the position is available.
This individual should demonstrate in depth knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics, and understand pharmacy systems of drug distribution and formulary management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with others are required.
Working in a cleanroom space, gowning, garbing and handwashing. This requires handwashing prior to compounding and post compounding when leaving the cleanroom. Employee may be expected to work on -call shifts. Coverage extends to day, and evening shifts. Employee is considered essential personnel and is expected to work during inclement weather (i.e.blizzards, hurricanes) if scheduled. During to course or daily tasks, the employee is required to walk, sit, stand and crouch for extended periods of time. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionaly lift/move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The work environment noise level is moderate.
