Position Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist, Formulary Clinical Analysis (FCA) provides client-level Mental Health Parity (MHP) support work for the FCA team and Medical Affairs.This position reports to the FCA team Senior Manager in Medical Affairs and is responsible for clinical drug list, formulary, and utilization management (UM) analyses, with a focus on MHP. The individual is accountable for analyzing and documenting compliance of standard template drug lists to ensure adherence to the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) and related CVS Health enterprise policies and procedures. The Clinical Pharmacist will also be responsible for providing guidance for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Drug List maintenance.Develops and maintains all client support materials, data elements, training and internal support materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in state of residence

  • 3+ years clinical pharmacy experience, inclusive of experience in the managed care/PBM environment

  • 2 to 3 years demonstrated experience in formulary development and pharmacy utilization management

  • Deep, broad knowledge of drug and disease state information, considerations, and landscape, both for mental health and substance use disorders as well as medical-surgical conditions

  • Strong PC skills: Office 365 with ability to quickly learn new applications as needed

  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage activities with impacted teams, and meet timelines

  • Excellent presentation and oral/written communication skills. Ability to respond skillfully and professionally to customers, or regulatory agencies with full understanding of the required confidentiality protections for patients and the enterprise


Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) and Nonquantitative Treatment Limitations (NQTLs), as well as knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder medications.

  • Technical knowledge of drug lists (NDC/GPI, MONY codes, etc.) Able to work with mathematical concepts for the purpose of assessing and reporting of formulary as well as required compliance measures

  • Able to identify and implement strategies to improve work efficiency and quality beyond designated focus area (e.g., simplify, streamline, leverage available technologies)

Education
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required

Doctor of Pharmacy strongly preferred

Pharmacy residency preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,200.00 - $225,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
