Job summary

CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to support doctors and nurses by safely reviewing prescriptions for interactions, dosing, allergies, and other concerns. You will provide the final safety check and dispense medications with accuracy.

You will communicate drug information to patients and health professionals, resolve drug-related problems with the care team, and maintain current knowledge of therapies, emphasizing compassionate care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in the State of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Documents clinical activities and interventions per policy. Reviews prescriptions for safety, dosing, and allergies. Performs final safety check before dispensing.
• Interprets medication orders for interactions and appropriateness; enters/verifies orders in the system and dispenses meds timely.
• Verifies medications prepared by others and ensures accuracy.
