Job summary

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Pharmacy degree, Bachelor or Science degree or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Current pharmacist certification or licensure in the State of Texas.
• Education in all age groups ranging from newborn to the geriatric population obtained either in school education or subsequent training.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions issued by physicians to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients.
• Compound medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients.
• Monitor patient profiles to ensure accuracy of drug allergies, interactions and duplications for better patient care.
• Prepare IV admixtures and direct staff in preparing IV admixtures under aseptic conditions.
• Provide drug information to physicians, nurses, patients and healthcare professionals about use, interactions and dosage.
