Job summary

HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide general clinical and pharmacy services, including supervision of technical staff. You will support safe medication use and participate in interdisciplinary rounds with a caring team.

Join a large, accredited healthcare system and contribute to formulary management, drug information, and special programs while delivering patient-centered care in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of one year of hospital experience preferred.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with Florida State Board of Pharmacy
• Completion of PGY1 (Pharmacy General Practice Residency) Required
• PGY2 (Pharmacy Specialty Residency) Emergency Medicine Preferred

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders and transcribe or verify into the pharmacy system.
• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor drug therapy for interactions and allergies.
• Sustain formulary and promote rational drug therapy.
• Provide medication information to staff and patients.
• Assist with clinical services such as consults and anticoagulant monitoring.
• Document clinical activities and interventions.
• Complete notification reports for medication errors and ADRs.
• Supervise pharmacy operations and support the team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is providing general clinical and pharmacy services, including supervision of technical staff. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner.

In this role you will:

• Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.

• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.

• Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose.

• Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing nonformulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promotes rational drug therapy selection.

• Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.

• Assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing and other programs as defined by Pharmacy Leadership.

• Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.

• Complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactions.

• Effectively supervise pharmacy operation activities and provide support to the whole pharmacy team.

What qualifications you will need:

• B.S. or PharmD from and ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required

• Minimum of one year of hospital experience is preferred

• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate Florida State Board of Pharmacy

• Completion of hospital PGY1 (Pharmacy General Practice Residency) Required

• Completion of PGY2 (Pharmacy Specialty Residency) Emergency Medicine Preferred
