Job summary

Strategic Resources, Inc. (SRI) seeks a committed pharmacist to serve ICE detainees under the IHSC Detention Center Healthcare contract. The role covers the full range of pharmaceutical services, including dispensing, counseling, inventory, DEA compliance, and record-keeping in a detention facility setting.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D., has at least one year of licenced practice, and maintains an active pharmacist license in the state.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics and clinic management aspects.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment.
• Familiarity with HIPAA/Privacy Act regulations and patient confidentiality rules.

Responsibilities

• Manage all pharmaceutical activities including purchase, inventory, control and record keeping of DEA controlled substances.
• Maintain DEA registration and legal records for controlled substances.
• Counsel patients on medication use, using language of the patient when possible.
• Prepare labels, dispense prescriptions, and ensure accuracy of dosages and instructions.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technician(s) and coordinates with nursing staff and providers.
• Maintain electronic health records and prepare monthly reports for leadership.
