Job summary

Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, CA, seeks a Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator to lead educational and clinical pharmacy services. You will serve as a drug information resource for nurses, physicians, patients, and families, and participate in optimizing therapy with independent decision-making.

Responsibilities include attending rounds, implementing facility protocols, conducting MUEs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while mentoring staff pharmacists and students.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensed in California.
• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy and BCPS required.
• Hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent experience (3 postgraduate years).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient-centered care and pharmacy services with physicians and nurses.
• Attend medical rounds and document pharmacist interventions.
• Develop and implement facility-specific medication therapy protocols.
• Conduct Medication Use Evaluations (MUEs) and adjust pharmacotherapy as needed.
• Support staff pharmacists and supervise pharmacy technicians, students, and interns.
• Lead professional development and ensure regulatory compliance (TJC, FDA, CDPH, CMS, CABoP, ISMP).
• Participate in education of healthcare professionals on medication use and safety.
