Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Pharmacist to help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to support patient recovery and well‑being.

Responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions for safety, assessing drug interactions and dosing, and providing a final check before dispensing medications at the nursing station. The role emphasizes collaboration with health care teams and delivering exceptional care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy, upon hire.

• Prescribe pharmaceutical agents as outlined in the approved collaborative drug therapy management agreement including initiating, adjusting, and discontinuing drug therapy.
• Order and interpret drug therapy-related tests.
• Ensure patients have access to and receive safe, efficacious and cost-effective medication therapy.
• Work collaboratively to resolve medication access and adherence issues.
• Address medication-related issues to support care coordination and transitions of care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacist, you'll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury.

Every day you will meticulously review every prescription in your queue for safety, critically assessing for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, or any irregularities. You'll then authorize prescriptions for the pharmacy technician, performing a final check before dispensing medication to the nursing station, ensuring expert oversight in every process.

To excel in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for real people. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.

Preferred

• Doctor Of Pharmacy, upon hire and
• Completion of three (3) years of practice experience with at least 50% of time spent in ambulatory care activities or
• Completion of a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy residency or
• Completion of a PGY1 residency plus one (1) year of practice experience with at least 50% of time spent in ambulatory care activities

Pay Range

$69.30 - $94.00 /hour
