Job Summary

Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center seeks an Abdominal Transplant Clinical Pharmacist to join our inpatient clinical team. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, this position will focus on liver transplant and support our transplant ICU. The schedule is Monday through Friday with an on-call component. A PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant residency or equivalent (at least 5 years of transplant practice) is preferred.

This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring clinical pharmacy programs to enhance patient care, with an emphasis on cost reduction. The pharmacist will provide clinical services to patients and staff, collaborate with medical staff on drug utilization and cost management, and may supervise department staff in consultation with the Director and Pharmacy Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science with equivalent experience or a Master of Science degree; Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensure in Texas, Sterile Product certification, and completion of an ASHP-accredited residency or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience/Skills: Minimum of 1 year as a Clinical Pharmacist I, leadership ability, strong customer service skills, familiarity with pharmacy and hospital computer systems, and understanding of healthcare reimbursement
Principal Accountabilities
  • Maintain effective communication within the team and serve as a role model through education and mentorship
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements
  • Manage resources for seamless patient care and participate in ongoing education
  • Assist in clinical research and develop targeted drug programs and evaluations
  • Provide guidance on clinical pharmacy education and implement educational initiatives
  • Ensure safety and compliance with policies, while managing resources efficiently
  • Support professional growth and serve as a mentor and resource for staff
