Job summary

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Clinical Pharmacist, your work plays an important role in the care of patients and healthcare providers by assuring the safe and the effective use of medications as needed. The Clinical Pharmacist monitors and evaluates prescribed therapies to promote optimal drug use and evidence-based practices to reduce risks of drug misadventures.

  • You will have daily interaction with your pharmacy team, nurses, physicians and other facility staff in the hospital and intervene in conflicts between pharmacy and medical staff regarding drug therapy issue resolutions that may arise.
  • You will provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders laboratory tests, medication monitoring according to established policies and procedures
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians
What qualifications you will need:
  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • A current and valid license as a registered pharmacist in the state of California.
  • One year hospital or equivalent experience required. Residency preferred.
