Qualifications

  • Registered to practice in Ohio or eligible for licensure.
  • BLS and ACLS Certification.
  • Flexible schedule due to operational needs (Med Rounds).
  • Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or specialty within 2 years of hire.
  • Meet ASHP preceptor qualifications within 12 months of hire.

Job Description

The role of the clinical pharmacist at the University of ToledoMedical Center is to provide a consistently high level of clinicalservices at all times to ensure optimal comprehensive patient carefor a specific patient population. They facilitate theimplementation of policies, procedures, and staff developmentprograms that promote desirable patient outcomes using safe,cost-effective drug therapies. Clinical pharmacists’ precept,mentor, and educate students, residents, pharmacists, and otherhealth care professionals. Their responsibilities also include, butare not limited to, core pharmacy services, assisting in the management of the pharmacy department, and coordinating dailyclinical pharmacy services.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy

  • Experience in providing written and oral drug information withexcellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Analyze data, interpret policies, procedures and regulations,develop appropriate conclusions, and prepare reports.
  • Self-directed, motivated and capable of leading supportivepersonnel.
  • Possess the ability to resolve conflicts and respondappropriately to complaints.
  • Able to work well with the public and other healthprofessionals.
  • Able to train, evaluate and supervise professional and technicalpersonnel and staff.
  • Demonstrate and utilize effective interpersonal and culturallyappropriate communications.
Physical Requirements
  • Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including colorvision when applicable
  • Ability to hear (with or without aides)
  • Ability to orally communicate
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 poundsoccasionally
  • Ability to stand, walk constantly
