Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland seeks a Clinical Pharmacist for night shift coverage within our not-for-profit health system serving the Maryland–Washington, D.C. region.

You will provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for inpatient units, including order verification, sterile compounding, TDM, and safety oversight. Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interprofessional teams, you will optimize pharmacotherapy, respond to emergent orders and code situations, document in the EHR, and

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in Maryland with PharmD degree.
• Inpatient clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile compounding and safety protocols.
• Experience with antimicrobial stewardship practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform order verification for inpatient units.
• Administer sterile compounding and prepare medications.
• Monitor drug therapies and adjust as needed.
• Ensure medication safety and optimize therapy.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and teams.
• Respond to emergent orders and code situations.
• Document interventions in the EHR and participate in QA.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for inpatient units, including order verification, sterile compounding, therapeutic drug monitoring, and medication safety oversight. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interprofessional teams to optimize medication therapy, respond to emergent and stat orders, and support code situations. Responsibilities include clinical interventions, antimicrobial stewardship participation, patient and staff medication education, and accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
