OSF HealthCare seeks a Clinical Pharmacist to support ICU services at OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Evergreen Park, IL. The role focuses on ICU pharmacy coverage (90% of time) with 1st shift hours 8:00am-4:30pm and rotating weekends/holidays.

The pharmacist reviews prescriptions, clarifies orders, analyzes drug therapy, and collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and others to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist (PHRM) with active license
• AHA BLS within 90 days of hire

Expected pay for this position is $59.90 - $70.47/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.

Overview

This position will support pharmacy services at OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Evergreen Park, IL. The focus of this position will be for intensive care unit (90% of the time).

1st shift hours of 8:00am-4:30pm (will work 90% of shifts in ICU); rotating weekends and holidays of 7:00am-3:30pm/ 9:00am-4:30pm

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Pharmacist reviews prescriptions, obtains clarifications, analyzes drug therapy and regularly consults with medical staff, nursing personnel and others in order to coordinate delivery of high quality pharmaceutical services to OSF HealthCare patients. In addition, the clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for compounding and dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and professional pharmacy practice. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licenses/Certifications: PHRM-Pharmacist American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required within 90 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) Pharmacy Practice PGY1

Experience: 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience serving a variety of patient types

Licensure/Certifications: Board Certification through Board of Pharmacy Specialties

Other requirements/information: Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and various other OSF HealthCare personnel when explaining medication use and gathering and exchanging other medication information. Analytical skills necessary in order to determine drug appropriateness and evaluate drug interactions. Demonstrated skills in independent problem solving, decision‑making abilities, and prioritization/delegation. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner. Competency in the use of an electronic medical record system.
