Job summary

Parkland Health Center, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks a Clinical Pharmacist for its inpatient pharmacy team. You will support medication management, clinical dosing and monitoring, and oncology/infusion services, contributing to high-quality patient care and ongoing practice advancement.

Role involves Mon-Fri daytime shifts with occasional evenings, weekends, and holiday rotations, in a collaborative environment focused on safety, efficiency, and professional growth within the Parkland Health

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required.
• No prior supervisor experience is required.
• Licensure for Medication Therapy Services (MO MORPh) is required.
• Doctorate in Pharmacy is preferred.
• Experience with 2–5 years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages workflow of technicians, interns and volunteers.
• Participates in departmental meetings and committees.
• Acts as a medication therapy resource for drug information and transitions of care.
• Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness and documents activities.
• Identifies opportunities to improve safety and efficiency in the medication use process.

offers a unique combination of world-class medicine along with the deep local roots and rich history of its three predecessors – Bonne Terre Hospital (opened in 1911), Mineral Area Regional Medical Center (1952), and Farmington Community Hospital (1969). Parkland Health Center has two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri – a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington as well as a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre. Bonne Terre is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study.The Pharmacy Department supports our inpatient services by providing quality prescription services in a timely, accurate manner to our inpatients. Preferred Qualifications

Role PurposeAssess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use according to patient condition and age specific criteria. Ensure prompt and accurate medication preparation and dispensing. Prevent, direct and resolve medication-related issues. Supervise and direct supportive personnel. Counsel and educate to promote optimal drug therapy. Direct and assist in the procurement, storage, distribution and disposal of medications.

Responsibilities

Directs and manages workflow including oversight of technicians, interns and volunteers ensuring the accuracy of their work in accordance with departmental procedures and Federal and State regulations.

Participates in departmental meetings and on committees at the health service organization, as appropriate.

Serves as medication therapy resource for activities such as drug information, training of staff, transitions of care and Medication Therapy Services.

Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness with regard to patient condition, organ function and concomitant therapies to promote optimal patient outcomes. Documents all activities and communication as appropriate.

Recognize opportunities and offer solutions to maximize efficiency and promote safety within the medication use process.
