Job description

Responsibilities
  1. General Staff Resource/Educator:
    • Serve as a resource and educator for performance improvement processes.
    • Assist leaders in developing intra‑ and interdepartmental processes to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of patient care.
    • Attend facility committees and manage workload across multiple projects.
    • Utilize quality databases to collect and analyze data accurately.
    • Demonstrate motivation, adaptability, and proactive improvement suggestions.
  2. Division of Quality Services:
    • Coordinate interdepartmental, interdisciplinary process/performance improvement initiatives.
    • Facilitate multiple performance improvement teams and evaluate processes for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
    • Design and conduct special PI projects as required.
    • Assist staff with implementation of process improvements and creation of department or project dashboards.
    • Manage data needs via software programs and ensure improvement team targets are met within required time frames.
    • Collaborate with the Regulatory Division on comprehensive analysis teams, safety alerts, and action plan follow‑up.
  3. Data Collection/Analysis:
    • Develop data collection forms and processes.
    • Collect and analyze data on process performance and staff adherence to established policies.
    • Communicate provider‑specific data to the Department Director and facilitate improvement based on analysis.
    • Perform medical record reviews for data collection and submission.
    • Attend departmental staff meetings to present results of improvement initiatives and create dashboards.
  4. Medical / Nursing Staff Peer Review:
    • Act as a resource for medical/nursing peer review according to policy/processes.
    • Communicate with Committee Chair(s) and members as necessary.
    • Conduct special studies and focused reviews as requested.
    • Accurately screen cases for peer review committees.
  5. Division of Patient Safety:
    • Manage patient safety reports, ensuring timely completion and closure.
    • Collaborate with PI Specialists to identify and facilitate PI projects based on incident trends.
    • Track incidents per PSO requirements and submit timely reports.
    • Meet routinely with department leaders to address safety issues and improvements.
    • Provide reports for department leaders and facility committees.
    • Assist the Enterprise Risk Manager in comprehensive adverse event analysis.
    • Conduct patient safety rounds routinely.
  6. Department of Regulatory and Accreditation:
    • Assist the Manager with all regulatory and accreditation activities assigned.
    • Conduct patient tracers to assure survey readiness.
    • Complete reports for the Regulatory Oversight Committee.
    • Participate on PI teams as requested.
    • Participate in policy and procedure development based on data analysis.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a healthcare discipline (required); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current California Registered RN license (required). Out‑of‑state RN license must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or CPHQ‑eligible (preferred).
  • Lean Management/Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher (preferred).
  • At least 3 years direct experience with process improvement and facilitation tools.
  • Direct experience in a healthcare profession and management of cross‑functional clinical teams required.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $72.45 - $90.00. The range reflects the target for new hire salaries.
