Position Overview

The College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University invites outstanding candidates to apply for a 3‑year residency position in veterinary clinical pathology beginning July 2027. The training program focuses on in-depth learning of clinical pathology and ACVP board preparation under the supervision of 4 ACVP board‑certified clinical pathologists. The resident will join a busy clinical pathology service and play a role in student education and hospital interactions. Local veterinary diagnostic labs and graduate programs at the CVM draw on abundant resources available in the Research Triangle region to provide unique research and career opportunities. Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree, have an excellent academic record, strong communication skills, and be committed to a career in veterinary clinical pathology. Clinical or post‑DVM experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Work as part of the busy clinical pathology service, assist with laboratory diagnostics, participate in student education and hospital presentations, and collaborate with local diagnostic labs and research programs.

Work Schedule

8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday–Friday with variability depending on case load; some evening and weekend on‑call.

Recruitment

Anticipated Hiring Range: $54,000.
