Job summary

The State of Hawaii, Department of Health, is recruiting for a Para Medical Assistant series (PMA I-IV) to provide direct personal care to patients in hospital or medically oriented settings, and to participate as part of a treatment team.

Qualifications

• Must have progressively responsible health facility experience in hospitals, clinics or health centers.
• Experience observing and reporting symptoms and implementing care procedures.
• For PMA II–IV, one year of experience comparable to two levels below the target.
• PMA-MH Entry Level: knowledge of personal hygiene and bodily care.
• PMA-MH Full Performance: one year direct personal care and nursing support tasks.
• Specialized knowledge may require certification or selective certification.
