Job summary

The Wright Center for Community Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide primary care in our outpatient clinic. The PA will assess and manage patients, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physicians and health-care staff per PA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have PA degree and NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients.
• Instruct and counsel patients and communicate with health-care staff.
• Interpret and utilize diagnostic test results.
• Make diagnoses and treatment decisions.
• Record medical data and history.
• Order diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe therapy with physician approval.
• Perform injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care.
• Educate patients on prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
• Assist physicians during procedures as needed.
• Visit and observe patients; update charts and report to physician.
• Maintain documents and charts per org policy.
• Commit to 36 hours of patient care per week and 4 hours admin time.
• Achieve no overdue charts >10 days and not more than 100 at month end.
• Participate in weekly call schedule and weekend rotations.
• Cover holidays as required.
• Work extra hours during staff shortages.
• Participate in nursing home rounds as needed.
