Job Description - Clinical OT Specialist Rehab Full Time Days (2506000854)
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, evaluates and treats patients using standard occupational therapy procedures. Responsible for treating complex and specialty cases at assigned sites.
Evaluates patients' motor and neurological capabilities and documents findings. Plans, organizes, and executes occupational therapy programs for patients.
Uses professional judgment to select treatment media, based on physicians' prescriptions. Implements programs to improve motor, sensory, cognitive, and interpersonal skills, promoting patient independence and productivity.
Collaborates with attending physicians to establish therapy goals aligned with diagnoses.
Prepares treatment plans and provides group or individual therapy using various occupational therapy modalities.
Documents treatments, evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries following departmental policies. Provides staff mentoring and develops educational in-services. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings for patient treatment and program development.
May oversee, instruct, and evaluate occupational therapy assistants, aides, students, and volunteers. Co-signs notes written by them.
Maintains professional expertise through workshops, lectures, and conferences. Assists in implementing programs fostering interdisciplinary care and service line development.
