Position Title

Clinical or Counseling Psychologist – Professional Well-Being Center Westwood Administration - East Position Summary / Career Interest:

The University of Kansas Health System’s Professional Well-Being Center provides no-cost, confidential, voluntary counseling and psychiatric services, wellness and leader consultations, and outreach programming to physicians, APPs, and nurses. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Clinical or Counseling Psychologist to join the Professional Well-Being Center’s expanding behavioral health team. This is a unique outpatient opportunity to positively influence the well-being of healthcare providers across our health system.

In this role, you will deliver a broad range of psychological services to healthcare professionals. This position follows a Monday–Friday schedule with one weekday evening (until 7 pm) expected; no call responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver initial psychological evaluations, triage, treatment, and psychoeducation for healthcare professionals at the Professional Well-Being Center.

  • Provide counseling services (individual, couples, and group) both in-person and via telehealth.

  • Offer consultations and lead outreach presentations for staff and departments.

  • Support strategic wellness initiatives aimed at fostering a healthy and inclusive work environment for medical professionals.

  • Participate in crisis response efforts (without on-call duties).

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral program (with an APA approved clinical internship)

  • One-year relevant post-doctoral experience

  • Must be fully licensed or licensable within 60 days to practice as a Psychologist in Kansas & Missouri

  • Demonstrated experience providing brief therapy to individuals, couples, and groups

  • Demonstrated strong clinical and crisis management skills, including ability to work with high acuity clients with complex mental health need

  • Demonstrated multicultural competence in mental health service provision

  • Experience designing and implementing outreach programs and psychoeducational workshops

  • Experience providing clinical consultation

  • Superior oral and written communication skills

  • PSYPACT credentialed or eligible (https://psypact.gov/)

  • Two or more years post-doctoral clinical experience, preferred

  • Two or more years of experience providing service to healthcare providers, preferred
