Job summary

South-Texas-Radiology-Group is seeking a Clinical Operations Specialist to provide administrative and project management support across clinical operations. You will liaise between radiologists and administrative leadership to drive quality initiatives, optimize workflows, and support physician productivity without direct patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Understand physician scheduling across radiology subspecialties and relate to quality, volume, and contrast coverage.
• Analyze physician scheduling at multiple locations to determine staffing levels and recruitment needs.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and collaborate with physicians to implement solutions.
• Help design and optimize PACS worklists to improve radiologist efficiency and study distribution.
• Complete data analysis for scheduling, staffing, procedure volume and turnaround times.
• Work with leadership to improve physician productivity metrics for executive leadership.
• Manage clinical quality improvement projects from inception to completion.
• Provide administrative support for peer review and quality initiatives.
• Coordinate implementation of clinical operational initiatives across the practice.
• Prepare materials for clinical meetings, capture action items, and ensure follow-through.
• Maintain confidentiality with sensitive physician performance data.
• Facilitate communication between clinical and administrative teams.

Job Title: Clinical Operations Specialist

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary of Position:

Provides administrative and project management support for clinical operations across STRG. Serves as liaison between radiologists and administrative leadership to implement quality initiatives, optimize clinical workflows, and support physician productivity without direct patient care responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Thoroughly understands physician scheduling optimization across multiple radiology subspecialties as it relates to quality, volume, and contrast coverage.
• Analyzes physician scheduling at all locations, to determine effective staffing levels and provides insights into recruitment needs
• Identifies workflow inefficiencies and collaborates with physicians to implement solutions
• Helps design and optimize PACS worklists to improve radiologist efficiency and appropriate distribution of studies
• Completes data analysis related to scheduling, staffing, procedure volume and turnaround times
• Works with leadership to improve physician productivity metrics for executive leadership
• Manages clinical quality improvement projects from inception to completion

Experience / Skill Requirements:

• Experience in administrative and clinical/healthcare setting is highly desirable; understanding of clinical functions, preferably radiology, helpful
• Project management experience is preferred
• Strong analytics experience is preferred
• Experience supporting quality initiatives or clinical improvement projects
• Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics and improvement methodologies
• Must be adept at using software for word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, Physician Scheduling Software (QGenda preferred), and ability to leverage AI assistants for report generation, data interpretation, and administrative tasks
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented, self-directed and be able to work with minimal supervision and highly confidential information.
• Able to work in a fast-paced collaborative but collegial environment while maintaining duties.

Education:

Three to five years of experience in a physician practice/clinic is preferred, radiology experience helpful.

Maintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements is an essential function of this position, including working all full-time regular hours as established for this position and scheduled or emergency overtime. Full-time regular hours are defined as Monday through Friday, with after-hours or weekends as required. All employees in this job classification are required to satisfy this requirement. This job classification does not include "light duty" work or allow unpredictable or unrestricted absences.
