Job summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Boulder, CO is seeking a Clinical Operations Coordinator to support the hip preservation service within Orthopedics. The role coordinates patient flow, triages referrals, handles calls and portal messages in Epic, and ensures efficient clinic operations with hybrid onsite/remote scheduling.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1 year of healthcare operations experience; bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in integrated physiology, kinesiology, public health, health administration, or related field.
  • One (1) year of professional healthcare operations, clinical coordination, surgical scheduling, insurance authorization, revenue cycle, or orthopedic practice experience.
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in integrated physiology, kinesiology, public health, health administration, or related field.

  • Proficiency in managing multiple schedules of fast paced medical practices

  • Previous experience working with orthopedic specialty clinic

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and EPIC.

  • Working knowledge of current insurance practices

  • Knowledge of Family Medical Leave Act and Short-Term Disability regulations

This full-time staff position requires refined skills and experience with administrative duties pertinent to orthopedics, managing clinic flow and with direct patient care in a fast paced, highly specialized surgical service line. This position will collaborate with the hip preservation service manager to efficiently and compassionately provide a wide spectrum of patient care under the direction of the hip preservation medical director and within the scope of their professional credentials.

  • this role is expected to work some days remotely. Specific schedule will be decided by the position supervisor. Onsite work will be located in Boulder, Colorado.
