Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Clinical Dietitian 1 (H) to join the cancer care team in a hybrid work setting. The RD provides medical nutrition therapy, designs care plans, and coordinates with physicians and other clinicians.

You will assess nutritional needs, document progress, and educate patients and families on diet and drug-nutrient interactions. This role supports survivorship and supportive care services and participates in quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
• Current state licensure as LDN or RD/RDN in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Confers with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs.
• Assesses the nutritional needs of patients and develops nutritional care plans.
• Initiates and follows nutrient intake analyses and makes therapy recommendations.
• Documents nutritional status and needs using established standards and guidelines.
• Writes changes for diet orders, supplements, and nutrition lab data.
• Serves as a clinical nutrition resource to physicians, patients, and staff.
• Creates and revises education materials related to disease management through medical nutrition therapy.
• Participates in workshops and support groups for patients and caregivers.
