Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care operations. Under physician supervision, you will assist with patient processing, diagnostics, and clerical tasks, ensuring smooth flow in the clinic.

You will perform EKGs, venipuncture, patient charting, and assist with procedures, all while delivering compassionate care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or Licensed Practical Nurse, or have 5+ years MA experience.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to daily department needs.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct patients, gather chief complaint and reason for visit, take vital signs and measurements.
• Perform diagnostic testing (EKG, PFT, minor labs) as ordered and venipuncture if needed.
• Maintain accurate records, charts, and patient notes.
• Assist physicians with procedures, treatments, and minor surgeries.
• Provide basic procedures under physician or nurse direction and conduct basic triage when needed.
• Prepare charts for daily appointments and follow up on missed appointments.
