Job summary

MarinHealth is seeking a Nutrition Technician to serve as the liaison between patients, staff, visitors and the Nutrition Services Department, organizing patient information into food service production. The role requires knowledge of modified and therapeutic diets, prior diet office software experience, and a focus on patient education and high-quality service.

Eligible candidates will have a two-year nutrition-related degree (or higher) and be prepared to obtain ServeSafe and IAMTAC

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in a nutrition-related field preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous diet tech, diet assistant or diet clerk experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
• Knowledge of modified and therapeutic diets required.
• ServeSafe (SSC) Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Integrative Agitation Management (IAMTAC) required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients, staff and visitors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient education regarding individual therapeutic diet orders.
• Assists patients with menu selections using excellent customer service skills in a time-efficient manner.
• Prepares production information for kitchen staff and trayLine staff for patient meals.
• Uses the diet office software to provide tallies and diet reports for accuracy.
• Prints and manages patient tray tickets prior to meal service; ensures delivery.
• Maintains temperature logs and supports food safety and quality initiatives.
