Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, CO seeks a Dietitian Assistant to provide operational support for the Clinical Nutrition department and assist with patient nutrition care. The role covers clinical work, the formula lab, and the eating disorders unit, with 8-hour daytime shifts and weekend/holiday availability.

PRN, as needed, 7:00am–7:00pm shifts. Ideal candidates have an AS in a nutrition-related field and related experience; certification as a registered dietetic technician is valued

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a nutrition-related field or equivalent.
• Area of study includes Nutrition, Dietetics or Healthcare.
• Registration as a dietetic technician or two years of related experience accepted in lieu of education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determines nutritional risk of patients and communicates with RD staff.
• Prepares and distributes formulas in the formula lab.
• Calculates and documents patient intakes and calorie counts with the team.
• Triages calls, screens nutrition risk, and supports diet plans and ketogenic diet initiation.
• Assists with family training on keto meals during and after hospitalization.
• Coordinates with kitchen/room service to ensure correct diet modifications.
• Supports outpatient diet analysis of RD records and complex therapeutic diets.
