Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of food service experience.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• If a Food Handler Permit is required by your state, obtain it within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to menu and dietary requirements, using kitchen equipment.
• Adhere to healthcare foodservice standards: monitor temperatures, prevent cross-contamination, maintain hygiene, label and store items properly.
• Provide high-quality patient experience with accurate portioning and presentation; escalate issues to leadership as needed.
• Follow therapeutic diet modifications and allergy restrictions; access diet orders and nutritional reports in electronic systems.
• Explain basic therapeutic diets to patients and families; collect food preferences; escalate complex questions to the team.
• Support department operations by managing tools, cleaning work areas, and performing duties as assigned by leadership.
