Job summary

Avera St Luke's Hospital in Sioux Center, IA is offering a paid Nursing Clinical Intern internship for Summer 2027. The student must be pursuing a BSN and have 1 or 2 semesters remaining after Summer 2027, with the internship requiring rotating days/evenings/nights and weekends.

The internship provides hands-on patient care under an RN mentor, includes documentation, care planning, teaching patients and families, and adherence to ANA standards.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in CCNE or NLN accredited RN program with 1–2 semesters remaining after Summer 2027.
• Must be pursuing a BSN and actively work toward it.
• Clinical internship with supervision by a registered nurse mentor and patient care responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining histories, examining patients, and documenting status.
• Teaches patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care.
• Evaluates patient care by following therapeutic standards and updating plans as needed.
• Maintains safe clinical environment by adhering to infection-control policies and medication procedures.
