Job summary

Stepful is seeking a Clinical Instructor to guide nursing students through in-person rotations in Toledo, Ohio, with virtual didactics as part of the program. You will collaborate with partner facilities to deliver hands-on training and help students advance toward licensure.

Ideal candidates have RN licensure in Ohio and BSN, plus 2+ years of faculty teaching and 5+ years nursing across practice and education.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of faculty experience in an RN or LPN education program.
• 2+ years of RN clinical experience; 5+ years across practice, education, and/or administration.
• BSN degree with active Ohio RN license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise in-person clinical rotations at partner facilities in Toledo, Fridays–Sundays.
• Deliver curriculum content, answer student questions, and provide timely feedback.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert in practical nursing education.
• Foster a positive, supportive learning environment for students.

Are you an experienced RN and nursing educator looking for meaningful, flexible contract work? Stepful is seeking a Clinical Instructor to guide practical nursing students through in-person clinical rotations in the Toledo, Ohio area — and we’d love to connect with you.

Stepful operates a Board of Nursing–approved Practical Nursing program with a mission to make nursing careers accessible to working adults who wouldn’t otherwise have a path in. Our students are motivated, hardworking, and counting on great clinical educators to help them cross the finish line into licensure and practice.

As a Clinical Instructor, you’ll supervise students during hands‑on clinical rotations at our partner healthcare facility in Toledo, putting your nursing expertise to work in a way that’s genuinely impactful — one student at a time.

Schedule & Logistics:

This position will be responsible for teaching both virtual didactic courses as well as in‑person clinicals. Clinical sessions take place on Friday, Saturdays, and/or Sundays in the Toledo, OG area. Hours are aligned to program rotation schedules. Hours will vary based on the number of courses taught.

For instructors outside the Toledo area, travel, lodging, and per diem support may be provided — so don’t count yourself out just because you’re not local.

What you’ll do

• Lead and supervise in‑person clinical rotations at partner healthcare facilities in the Toledo, Ohio area (mainly on Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays)
• Deliver curriculum content, answer student questions, and provide timely feedback
• Act as a subject matter expert in practical nursing education
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students

What you’ll bring

• 2+ years of experience as faculty in an RN or LPN education program
• 2+ years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse, with 5+ years of varied nursing experience across clinical practice, nursing education, and/or administration
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Active, unencumbered Ohio RN license
• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners

Bonus points if

• You have specialty experience in maternal health and pediatrics

The target base salary range for this opportunity is $80,000 - $95,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including equity and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
