Summary

In accordance with established standards, provides basic nursing care and assists in more complex care to patients under the direction of a licensed nurse.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of at least one of the following:
• Current enrollment or completion of a professional or practical nursing program or other health-related educational program focused on the delivery of direct patient care with at least three months of experience in an educational clinical setting delivering direct patient care.
• Completion of a Pennsylvania state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician educational training program.
• At least three months of experience in a clinical setting delivering direct patient care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current eligibility for certification as a nurse aide in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• A fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system.
