Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor for the Night shift. You will oversee department operations, coordinate with the Director and manage staff performance while ensuring patient care quality and compliance with regulations.

The role requires a valid RN license, a BSN preferred, BLS and ACLS on hire, plus 2 years of clinical nursing experience with supervision. Sign-on bonus eligible and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid RN license to practice nursing.
• BSN preferred for leadership and advanced practice.
• Current BLS certification required at hire and maintain.
• Current ACLS certification required at hire and maintain.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with supervisory or leadership exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees departmental operations and staffing during night shifts.
• Collaborates with the unit Director/Manager to implement plans and ensure compliance.
• Directs, supervises, and evaluates staff to ensure efficient department performance.
• Performs direct patient care as needed within scope of practice and monitors care plans.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. In the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager, the Clinical Supervisor may assume the administrative scope of the unit assigned. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations. The Clinical Supervisor prepares, conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel. Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally. The Clinical Supervisor is responsibility and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Assists the Department Director in the daily operations of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and staff. Ensure the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

FACILITY / UNIT TRAINING

• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
• Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained.
• Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.
