The CNS coordinates practice activities, collaborates with health-care teams, and guides education and professional development to advance patient outcomes.

The role requires CNS certification, APRN licensure or eligibility, and a Master’s/Doctoral degree in CNS practice with at least 3 years of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required.
• APRN licensure required or eligible.
• Master’s or Doctoral program in Clinical Nurse Specialist.
• CNS certification by a recognized certifying body.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing practice; CNS experience preferred.
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain a certificate to prescribe.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert CNS consultation and guidance for high-risk patients and families.
• Lead evidence-based practice initiatives and quality improvement across units.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to translate evidence into care.
• Develop and teach advanced nursing practice standards and policies.
